Gabriel Phoon

Gabriel Phoon is a petroleum engineer by profession. He obtained his degree from Curtin University Sarawak. He is also one of the founding members of GTG IGCSE center.

Gabriel’s teaching interest first peaked when he applied for a student transfer program to Taiwan where he taught English to primary students. There, he found great fulfilment witnessing the growth of his students and that is when he decided to enter the teaching industry.

With more than 5 years of teaching experience, Gabriel has developed his own sets of notes that are straight forward and easy for students to understand. Having good notes are definitely not enough though, as physics is very similar like mathematics, Gabriel believes that practice is KEY for understanding physics.

Having that thought in mind, Gabriel has personally extracted topical questions from past year papers and hands out constant exercises for students to practice on every week. With the new pandemic hitting and forcing students to go online, Gabriel has also developed a Kumon inspired style approach where students are required to do daily exercises ( 5 questions per day) to further help the understanding of fundamental physics.

Overall Gabriel has helped countless students achieve A*s over his period of teaching with a 100% passing rate and 80% students being able to achieve A in their physics exam!
